Doctor Lingli Yuan
I’m a medical student who studied in Wuhan, China, and then in Toulouse, France for my PhD. I had the pleasure to be invited to the sino-french conference which took place in China, in the city where I have done my study. I found the conference was well organized. It was a good opportunity to learn new things, to see on which topics the others are working. Among others, I have learned facts about evolution of radiotherapy and its limitation, about the limitation of chemotherapy and its potential solution. I also had the opportunity to see what drug we are trying to develop currently. It was also a good occasion to meet other researchers and be to get to know new person. It was also for the student a good place to find PHD, a post-doc or another job. On the opposite, it was a good occasion for the teacher to find student for their open positions. According to me, more international conference shall be organized in China. All students do not have the chance to go abroad for conference and it is also a chance for experts to discover China (of course the country! but also the team of researchers and their labs). Besides science, the conference was also a good way to exchange about cultures: For foreigners to experience the Chinese way of life and for the Chinese to take part to a wine tasting. In a nutshell, I found that this kind of conference is really helpful to build a platform for good international communication and to find potential need of each other.
